The Monzón rockers are back. On 23 October Mallazo released “Tocar el cielo”, their new single and the first taste of “Siempre igual”, the album we recorded and mixed at my studio in Ejea de los Caballeros, Spain.
The song is about breaking the screen loop, about no longer running away from real life and getting back in touch with what actually matters. In the band’s own words: “sometimes, to touch the sky, you first have to see it”.

“Siempre igual”: ten rock songs
It’s a straight-ahead rock record, a band that sounds like a band, and we built it in stages: first came “Ya no duele” —released in February with a music video by Pablo Peirón— and “Shangái”, and this summer we tracked and mixed the rest. The mixes are tight and centre-heavy, where the vocal and the drums live, and the master is by Javier Roldón (Vacuum Mastering), who knows the band’s sound inside out.
- Siempre igual
